Developing applications and games since 2018, and professionalized by Simon Klebel in 2020, Strawbear Studios continuously develops high quality and user-friendly applications. Starting as a free-time project and a hobby, we have become a more professional studio focused on the creation of flawless apps and games.

We might still be a newcomer on the gaming market, but we are dedicated to developing products our users will enjoy! Your satisfaction is our priority.

We want to make sure that you can truly enjoy our apps. That means no bugs, not too many ads popping up all the time, a user-friendly interface, consistent graphics, and of course, excellent content.

About me

I grew up being inspired by technology: impressive monuments, air- and spacecraft, in general, modern infrastructure. When I got older, I learned how much it depends on computer science and how important computer science is for it. This field impressed and fascinated me, and as I dived a little deeper into it, I noticed how much I enjoy programming. And yes, I am also quite good at it.

Starting with simple and more limited editors like Greenfoot, I learned the basics of coding. I gained more experience approaching different projects, for example, by programming electronics like a simple calculator. When I finally started developing more complex apps and games, I was quite overwhelmed at first. How much work it requires and how much I still had to learn was eye-opening. But after programming many sample projects and developing actual apps and games, I do consider myself to be very experienced. There are still some things to learn, but having mastered many challenges, I am eager to take new ones!

I am already looking forward to our next project!

About me

Hello together!

I'm Melvin, passionate about Games Design. I started creating graphics at a young age, especially for school projects and presentations to give them my own signature. When we were given the task to develop a simple game, I decided to draft and design the graphics. Adding my own, individual ideas, I pursued the goal to make it visually appealing to the users.

What fascinates me most about composing graphics and designing is the creation of a unique and creative style, that has never been seen before. Eventually, I am responsible for it, what the users see and how much our releases appeal to them. And of course, I'm always doing my best to provide them with an amazing and unforgettable experience.

By designing our apps and games I'm giving them my own signature. And what can I say, I just enjoy it.

About me

Focus on improvement. This motto controls the way I behave and how I make decisions. From a young age on, I watched other children at my age playing games like soccer for hours and hours, just for fun. That made me realize I wouldn’t want to waste my time like this, as I could use it to get better at what I’m enjoying.

As I grew older, I began to always look for challenges in given tasks and activities. I kept this attitude until now, resulting in zero tolerance towards mistakes. Because of these character traits, I’m able to continuously test games on high standards and detect bugs, errors, and malfunctions.

The first time Simon told me about his new project, Strawbear Studios, I was immediately filled with enthusiasm and ideas, what we could turn it into. Since then, we have been working together, trying out new implementations or adjustments, with the main focus being enhancement and improvement of the games and its mechanics.

Our principles

Excellence

Quality is important! And we definitely prefer it to quantity. So far, we only published one game, but we are currently developing the other two. It may take some time, but we make sure that everything works flawlessly to provide you with the best experience. From the first few ideas to the final version, we do our best to cover all eventualities and to avoid bugs. We might not release our games and apps as fast as other small studios, but we stand for quality and excellence! We never publish an app before being convinced that we would download it ourselves.

Standing out from the crowd

There are so many games and apps that have already been published, and no one can download all of them. Especially on the Play Store, you can find millions of apps, and unfortunately, many of them lack quality and unique features. Our own projects are usually quite simple compared to big studio releases, but we always try to add some special and unique elements. Our games often give you the chance to personalize it and offer new options you might not have encountered yet! The main focus of our apps is on outstanding functionality and value for our users.

You probably won't find all of our apps appealing to your personal needs or interests, but we promise that you won't be disappointed by those apps you download!

High Performance

No one likes a buggy game that doesn't load! One of our internal rules is never to publish a game before it has met the necessary standards: No seemingly endless loading times nor any bugs during the gameplay should ever occur. To make sure that we can provide you with the best-performing apps, we are testing our apps on a great variety of different devices, which also includes relatively old models. If our apps run smoothly even on those devices, having a small RAM and few cores, we know that no one will encounter annoying performance bugs that could cause frustration. From then, everyone can fully concentrate on the content of our apps and games and doesn't need to worry about any performance-related issues!

Thorough Testing

Even after building the first prototype of our apps and games, the development is still far away from completion. Before bringing our products to the public, we thoroughly test them to avoid releasing a version with any bugs or errors. To ensure high-quality content, we run several tests, including internal, alpha, and sometimes beta tests. If one of our testers notices an issue, we are fixing it and release a new version for testing. Only after a successful test run without any complaints we release our apps and games for production. And if it somehow happened that our release still requires improvement, you can contact us, and we will start working on a solution immediately!
